According to the scriptures, Lord Shiva loves Bel Patra very much. Especially offering belpatra in the month of Sawan is very beneficial. Along with this, at least five belpatra should be offered to Lord Shiva. They should be kept at five different places.
First of all Bel Patra should be offered to Nandi Maharaj, a devoted devotee of Lord Shiva.
The second bel patra should be offered to Ganesh ji on the Jalhari situated above the Shivling directly on the hand side.
The third Bel Patra, on which side the water comes out from the Shivling. Should be offered at that place.
The fourth Bel Patra is the Kalash located above the Shivling, which falls on Lord Shiva. Should be kept on that urn.
The last i.e. the fifth bel patra should be offered over the Shivling, which you are worshipping.
